Hi everybody! It has been way, way waaaay too long since I've last updated this site, (I'm so sorry!) but I'm back and I have a new book to review! I've read a few good books in my absence, but my absolute favorite has to be Leigh Bardugo's dark fantasy masterpiece Six of Crows.

A thrilling tale of monsters, outcasts and demjins, Six of Crows tells the story of Kaz Brekker, an up and coming gang leader and criminal mastermind in the city of Ketterdam. He's building an empire on the streets of Ketterdam's slums (known locally as the barrel) and building a legend around himself in the process. Kaz loves two things: money and revenge. So when the chance to win a mind boggling fortune and punish his rival arises, Kaz is more than game. But even the bastard of the barrel can't pull this off alone. He enlists fellow gang members Inej, a deadly and secretive spy, Jesper, an expert marksman with a desperate addiction, Nina, a girl in possession of unusual powers.* Add in Matthias, a former witchunter hardened by prison and a gut wrenching betrayal, and Wylan, a mysterious runaway with a gift for the explosive, and you've got yourself a crew. With the odds stacked against them, they set out to buy their freedoms-and risk their lives.

To be honest, I don't think I've enjoyed a book this much in years. I absolutely could not put this book down, and each twist was stranger and most exciting than the last. I'd read it as soon as you can!

* This book is part of the Grishaverse, a set of books in the same universe written by Leigh Bardugo that are all somewhat connected. Nina is a "Grisha" which is similar to being a witch. Most of what it means to be Grisha is explained in the book, I only put this in there so you guys are familiar with the term, because I had no idea what this meant when I read the book. The Grishaverse books comprise of the Shadow and Bone Trilogy, Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom (which are spinoffs so you don't need to read Shadow and Bone to understand them) and King of Scars (as well as its upcoming sequel!)
