Hi all! Sorry I've been a little iffy on the posts recently, and I'm still trying to find the next book I've been wanting to read. My apologies! But anyways, onto more classic books!

Routine. That's what the community is all about. Parents are assigned two children and the children grow up in the strict and regimented society of the community. When they are 12 years old, they are assigned their jobs. They work, and become parents, and the cycle continues and continues. There are no emotions, no anger or fear or unhappiness. This is what life is for Jonas, until the choosing ceremony at 12. He is assigned to be the "Receiver of Memory", to safeguard the community's collective memories. This is a role that is highly honored, but highly secretive.

And highly dangerous for the community, and most of all for Jonas.
