It's About Love (Steven Camden)

This book is an older read for me, I read it a while ago but I still think it's great. The author, Steven Camden, is a spoken word artist by trade and it really shows up in his writing.

The book follows Luke, a 17 year old boy taking a film course at a local college. His lifelong passion has been movies, and he's excited to take this course. Luke comes from a stereotypical working class family, and often feels out of place among his rich classmates.

Until he meets Leaia. (Cliche, I know.) The two of them try to make sense of the world around them and their own unique struggles with the art they know best: film.

This book is really interesting and the writing style is very unique. The one complaint I would have is that it's very murky in the beginning, very mysterious and it can be a little frustrating to read and have to wait to find things out. But otherwise, great book and I would totally recommend it.
