As I've mentioned before, I'm a huge John Green fan. I love his writing but I also love his YouTube channel, Vlogbrothers. Part of the Vlogbrothers community is a book club, which is pretty awesome! (Vlogbrothers fans are called Nerdfighters, and you should totally become one.) So this was my first ever nerdfighter book club book!

The entire book takes place over the course of one day in 1999, at the WTO protests in Seattle. It follows the stories of 7 different people and how all of their lives are changed, for better or for worse, all in this one day.

Let me just start with this: this book is brutal. It handles Police Brutality and protest atmosphere in the most honest and gritty way possible. It's also beautiful. It's an absolutely incredible whirlwind of violence and beauty and really captures just what it means to be a human and to understand other humans.
