I am a huge fan of this podcast (if you don't know it you should totally check it out, so I'll put a link at the end of the post) but I had procrastinated reading this book. I thought that it wouldn't be similar to the podcast, that the plot would be confusing as I wasn't totally caught up when I read it, and a whole other list of reasons why not. But when I eventually bit the bullet and read it, I was really really impressed! It follows Diane Crayton and Jackie Fierro, 2 citizens of the desert town of Night Vale. They join forces when the mysterious "King City" starts making appearances.

This book is a lot more similar to the podcast than I expected, which was a huge bonus. It was bizarre and intriguing. The only criticism I would have for this book is that it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. In the beginning it was laugh out loud hilarious, but as the book went on the humor wore off a little. Still, fantastic book and and certainly a must read for anybody who's into the podcast or would like to be.
