The Book Of Fred (written by Abby Bardi)

This is one of the most amazing and sadly unknown books of all time. It follows Mary Fred, a young girl who has been raised in a cult her entire life. Her parents have recently gone to jail for allowing their son to die of a treatable illness (their beliefs do not allow for medicine) so Mary Fred must move in with a foster family. At first this seems like a......less than ideal situation. Alice, her foster mother, is divorced and cannot seem to get over her ex husband. Heather (also called Puffin) is a rebellious teenager and Uncle Roy is a drug addict.

I really cannot find anything bad to say about this book. It is quirky, original, real and honest. I would recommend this book to anybody who is looking for a story about a family that is just a little off the beaten track.

JUST A WARNING

This book is not for anybody who cannot handle some mature content.
