Let's just start this off by saying if Rainbow Rowell wrote a book about a talking pillowcase, I would give it rave reviews (honestly, I would give any story about a talking pillowcase rave reviews) But to the point, I am a massive fan of her books. Fangirl was my introduction to her, so it holds a special place in my heart. It is about twin sisters Cath and Wren, who come from a rather interesting family situation. Their mother left when they were very young, and their father has his own struggles. To cope, they turned to a book series called Simon Snow, which they began an intensive and popular fanfic about (there is a sequel to this book called Carry On which is the fanfic! Leave a comment if you want me to review it!) But they are starting college, and Wren has moved on. Cath, however cannot decide whether to keep what she is most passionate about or move on and start her life. Cath is very socially anxious, so this is rather hard for her.

This is one of my favorite books of all time. It's smart and funny and profound when you need it to be and totally written to fit the times. I would recommend this book to anybody who is facing a big change, or struggles with some sort of Anxiety, or who just wants a funny and relatable read.
